About the doctor

Thirty years of psychiatry, and he still starts by listening.

Prof. Dr. Rana Mozammil Shamsher Khan is a consultant psychiatrist, a medical teacher, and one of Sialkot's best-known voices on mental health. He has headed psychiatry departments, trained doctors at two medical colleges, and spoken at national and international conferences. His aim is the same for every patient: work out what is really going on, then treat the whole person, not just the symptoms.

Many people come to him after seeing several other doctors for stomach pain, headaches, body aches or a racing heart, with every test coming back normal. Much of his work is explaining central sensitisation, where the nervous system stays stuck on high alert, and then treating it.

His most-asked-about topic

Three illnesses. One real cause.

تین بیماریاں، حقیقت ایک — Central Sensitization

IBS, fibromyalgia-type body pain, and sudden panic attacks often turn up together. In many patients they share one cause: a nervous system that has become over-sensitive and stays on high alert. Treatment that works on the brain–gut and brain–body connection can help where several rounds of stomach medicine haven't.

Can't find your answer here? Call the clinic on 0334-4601930 or join our WhatsApp group.

Do I need an appointment for the clinic?

No. You can come in during clinic hours, take a token at reception, and you'll be seen in turn.

How does an online consultation work?

Send your request on WhatsApp, pay the fee by Easypaisa to 0334-4601930, and send the receipt screenshot. Once payment is verified you'll get a time for a WhatsApp video call. Your digital prescription is sent on WhatsApp, and you can take it to any pharmacy.

Yes. Nothing is shared with anyone without your written consent, except where the law requires it. This applies to online consultations too.

Can a family member come with me?

Yes, and on a first visit it often helps. Family can join online calls too. Patients under 18 must come with a parent or guardian.
